

The History of 106 Lafayette
Originally known as the Frank Cavaness Tin Shop, Frank Cavaness opened for business August 1st, 1937 and was originally located at 113 West Davie St. The business operated at this location for one year, then it was moved to 106 LaFayette St. , where they spent over two decades in operation.
Frank Cavaness operated in Anna for several decades, working in roofing, heating and sheet metal trade for 8 years previous to the date which he opened his own business. He employed three members of Union County, namely: Henry Tripp of Jonesboro, Ill. Earl Tripp of Jonesboro, Ill. and Fred Merriman of Anna, Ill.
